The Minsk State Linguistic University (MSLU) participates in 20 international programs.
They are “LINGUAUNI”, CIS program “Languages and Cultures of CIS Peoples”, a project with the department for culture of the French Embassy in the Republic of Belarus concerning the joint qualification exams for obtaining French diplomas DELFDALF, inter-university international project “Modern Methods of English Language Teaching for Special Purposes” (Manchester University, Great Britain, University of Agau – Switzerland and Polytechnical Academy), medium-term (2002-2005) European program “Modern Languages”, international program on linguistic resources TELRI, project on creation of a number of national English language study books for secondary school, etc.
The MSLU has 54 valid agreements on cooperation with its foreign partners. In 2003, 225 university students went abroad for internship and for work as translators (interpreters) and 42 students studied abroad. In 2003 452 foreign students from 44 countries studied at the university.
The number of languages studied at the MSLU has increased significantly. The students have the possibility to study English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Persian, Arabic, Swedish, Dutch and Polish. The university has 7 centers of languages and cultures of the language being studied: English, Italian, French, Turkish, Chinese, Belarusian, a hall of American Studies and Austrian Library. In the nearest future it is planned to open three more center – Dutch, Arabic and Persian.
